Work on the 2017 Bowls for Hunger auction has begun! This year's even is shaping up to be the best ever, but we need to make sure we do our part. That means we need bowls! Last year we produced 110 bowls for this worthy cause, and we want to break that record this year (other turned items -- pens, lidded boxes, tops, toys, etc -- are also welcome).

Items should be brought to the August 5th meeting if at all possible, but can be turned in as late as September 2nd.

Never turned a bowl? Don't have the tools or the wood? No problem!

In lieu of the usual monthly meeting and hands-on class, PWT and Mann Tool are opening the doors to a free two-day bowl turning event. Friday, August 4th from 9am-5pm and Saturday, August 5th from 9am-1pm, drop in to take advantage of one of 16 lathes; bowl blanks and finishes will be provided. Bring your own tools or borrow a set from the club. All with guided instruction from experienced club members. All for free! All you have to do is donate your finished bowl to be sold as part of the Bowls for Hunger charity auction (benefiting Harvest Hope food bank). If you are learning to turn, you won't find a better deal than this anywhere. If you're an experienced turner, all you give up to help this worthy cause is a little time.
