Coming in September, 2017
Together with the Harvest Hope Food Bank, Palmetto Woodturners is excited to be participating in a special fundraiser and community service project. The Palmetto Woodturners Bowls for Hunger project (aka "Empty Bowls") debuted in 2015 and in that year, helped to raise over $5,000 and provide nearly 27,000 meals through a silent auction of hand-crafted bowls. The food this money went to buy was distributed to soup kitchens, neighborhood food banks, and agencies throughout 20 SC counties from Greenville to Florence.
The event has is fast becoming an annual tradition for the club, which has been working to expand it ever since. This year's auction will be held on the evening of Thursday, September 7, 2017. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
